Is it the motor or the wiring? That's a common question, with variations applied to fuel pumps, radiator cooling fans, blower motors, power windows, sunroofs, lamps, etc. The list goes on and on, but this new circuit load simulator allows the user to employ a single diagnostic approach.

Unplug that circuit loadwhatever it isconnect the simulator and attach its chassis ground. Turn on the simulator and select from three categoriesmotor, lamp or "other." Then scroll through the choices in each category until you find the one that applies and let the simulator go through a circuit test. The simulator display will look for and report if the problem is in the power or ground side of the circuit, indicating if there's a voltage drop (and how much), an open circuit or a short to voltage or ground.

Naturally, the choices are all based on providing "typical" current draws, so if you want the simulator to test a circuit for some component you know has an unusually high or low draw, you can opt for a specific amperage draw as the testing benchmark.
